@philipatoz maybe they have a material that is strong enough to withstand collisions? Again plasma shielding may be able to deflect small rocks, there is research to suggest it is possible funded by the US military. As for larger rocks a radar like system could be used to make the craft automatically dart around them. I agree there's complications of fast space travel but it's still plausible.

@XCrazyGuitarManX, avoiding space debris is not like you're just on the lookout for the odd rock, we're talking countless billions of objects, ANY one of which could bring down a craft. There are 100 billion comets, alone, surrounding the solar system. At speeds required, even a micrometeorite could bring down a spaceship. And it's not like you can just hit the brakes or swerve around objects traveling at enormous speeds. Our fastest spaceship would take 112,000 YEARS to reach the nearest star!

@philipatoz ok well apply some imagination and knowledge of technology here on earth; they could have a computer system which sends out something similar to radar and then plots the best path thus combining efficiency (least distance traveled) with the ability to avoid any space debris. As for radiation wear there is currently research into plasma shielding which can absorb radiation, more intelligent life could have mastered this or something similar.

@XCrazyGuitarManX, you aren't getting it! The universe is filled with debris, comets, COUNTLESS objects moving at incredible speeds. Traveling at the enormous SPEEDS required to get here from the nearest star system that MIGHT support even very BASIC life - 50 light years out - means you are going to quickly slam into some object or one is going to slam into you. This is UNAVOIDABLE at enormous speeds. Radiation wear on craft is another unavoidable. So, higher-tech speeds offer no solution!

@philipatoz the blind leading the blind! Beings could reach our solar system in one life time for two reasons; 1. With superior technology life can be extended, we see that happening everyday on earth. An advanced race may even be immortal or close! 2. Einstein misled us: although you cannot travel beyond the speed of light, if you continue to accelerate once it is reached time will be slowed leading in the same result as if you had traveled beyond the speed of light. Travel time not an issue

It is obvious that information regarding ufo sightings were silenced before the internet and world wide info flowing freely. How do you interpret thousands of people who say " I KNOW WHAT I SAW". Mass halucinations?

@InfiniteSin1, WHAT are you talking about? I'm talking about the impossibility of PHYSICAL beings traveling in PHYSICAL spacecraft having visited us. IF they exist in the physical realm, then they ARE subject to the very same physics and threats across the universe that ALL physicists, astronomers/astrophysicist agree exist. But if you want to believe in aliens are visiting us, FINE. but you obviously do so based upon FEELINGS, not PROOF. You apparently believe these aliens are metaphysical, no?
